We managed to get the first coat of drywall mud on but it’s been raining for the last few days and it’s taking forever to dry. Maybe we can get the third coat on today.

I’d be ordering out every night till the job was completed… You could have left the kitchen the way it was when all the old drywall was removed. Go for the urban ghetto look…

did you tape the seams then mud them? It sure takes a lot of sanding to get everything smoothed out for painting.

  2. Yeah, there was a lot of takeout with a dust chaser. Where were you with the Urban ghetto idea before we drywalled it?

Yes, all seams were taped before being mudded. Hubby is taking care of the sanding and is doing a fantastic job. Of course, he’s using the mouse sander so it’s not as evil as when we did it with a hand sander. We’re hoping to get the last bit done tonight then texturing tomorrow. Poor Nick had to spend is entire vacation working on the kitchen. Ah, well, it kept him out of trouble:)
