I’m sharing this email my father sent. I think most of us have been here before but it’s nice to have company anyway. And as you can see I get my sense of the absurd honestly.
Okay, you don’t have to buy encyclopedias and you can look on the Internet to find out stuff and not have to rely on the media or magazines to find out what is going on but they have also cost jobs and occupations to be downsized or eliminated.
But wait, that isn’t where I am going. I hate the time they take to protect and update them constantly. Last night I wasted over an hour trying to figure out what I couldn’t get on Netflix. I naturally assumed it was my router/modem. After that checked out and still no Netflix, I unistalled and reinstalled it after looking up all my code and passcode on the router. Then it said my server wasn’t working and off course I had knocked off others who were online while I was uninstalling the router. I was down to the dreaded call to tech support at my Internet service or Netflix when I quit leaving it for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, on my computer I managed to reinstall Netflix app on it, thru Windows store (Required by computer message). I had not been able to get a movie on my computer since an automatic update to Windows 8.1 failed and I had to restore my computer to an earlier time to get around problems.
Today, I turned on the computer getting ready for the phone call to a tech, and I was getting the television set up at the point where it wouldn’t open Netflix but when I turned it on the Smart Hum started updating and when it completed I went to Netflix and it started updating. When it finished there was a list of movies available. GR!!
But be of good cheer, someday they will do almost all the work and the rest of us can lay about and use our brains to think up new stuff while being supported someway, as yet unknown. ????? No more, coca cola for me after this.
