Another Way

I live in a major city. There are hundreds of ways for me to get from my house to my work. Hundreds.

And yet, I take the same way, every day.

The route tends to be the fastest.

And the most direct.

But there is construction that is starting to impact the time and my blood pressure. Yes, there are lots of idiots who don’t know how to drive through construction zones let alone use a round-about.

Today, on the advice of a coworker, I decided to try something different. Not a different route, but a different exit—missing the round-about and bypassing the construction.

I white knuckled it all the way and fumed at having to wait for lights to allow me to proceed.

It was annoying. Almost as annoying as those folks who don’t know how to use a round-about. Alas, I didn’t have anyone to shout at for their stupidity. And I think it may actually have taken longer.

But, I’ll try it again at least until the end of the week.

Maybe, I’ll even like it.

Well, that may be getting a little carried away. Still, it’s good to try something new.

Until next time.
