Summer Treats

The mercury is ticking up. It’s summertime. Time for something cold and sweet in the freezer.

When I was a kid, the purveyor of such treats was the ice cream man. He didn’t show up on our block often, but when he did it was the red, white, and blue rocket treat or a snowball.

I’ve always loved icees either in pushup pops or sleeves of plastic.

My parents were fans of the fudgsicle and rootbeer pops. Which I ate and enjoy.

But now, it is ice cream that takes up space in the freezer. Our choice is sundae cones and those almond chocolate coated goodness from Costco.

Of course, we try to supplement our ice cream with something more healthy like frozen fruit bars and the occasional throwback to popsicles. I try not to discriminate.

What frozen treat makes your summer?

Until next time, stay healthy.
