In our house, most of our dirty dishes are set in the sink or on the counter next to the sink until it is time to load the dishwasher or wash the dirty pots and pans by hand. I know some folks who consider this odd, and want to know why the dirty dishes can’t be loaded into the dishwasher immediately or washed immediately. The usual reason is because, we don’t always unload the clean dishes as soon as the dishwasher finishes.
I can live with this dirty adjacent philosophy.
But I have to admit, I am kind of annoyed with the shredder adjacent extrapolation of the dishwasher adjacent practice.
I mean, really? Just turn it on and then insert paper into the shredder. My belief is that no one wants to have to empty a full shredder can, with its confetti that goes everywhere, so if they set it next to the shredder, they never have to empty the can.
Leaving me as the only one who does it. Which is how my husband usually is the only one emptying the dishwasher.
Until next time, stay healthy.
