Cocoa time

We have finally been getting some rain. Even though the highs have been in the 80s, I have been treating myself to some cocoa.

These are the brands I have been rotating through:

Starbucks is the richest, Stephen’s is the creamiest and Swiss Miss takes me back to childhood campfires.

How do celebrate rainy winter days?

The job so far

I got most of my crafts sorted. I bought a couple new carts to keep everything organized and in the open

Even got a few cards made.

I will have to figure out a better filing system, but I am very happy so far.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Friday Find

I saw this in my daughter’s bathroom. Makes me proud that she would buy something with this name.

Isn’t life grand?

Music and Memories

We have been watching the Professor of Rock on YouTube and I am always surprised by the memories that I recall when I hear certain songs.

Problem is, these are not my memories.

I’m not sure they’re anyone’s memories.

yet, there they are, playing in my head to music I know I used to listen to.

In an interview, I once heard a physic say that we all pass through this stuff that gives us information of everything, everywhere, at all time and that some folks retain these memories and experience them as Deja vu.

While I like the idea of that, I’m pretty sure I just have a great imagination that mixes with movies and images.

Until next time, stay healthy and warm.

Maker Monday

Here are some thank you cards I created before I started my craft area reorganization.

Slimline cards for a change
Big cards to highlight the 3D effects of the toppers from I purchased from European Papercrafts

Now the hard part of writing and getting them into the mail.

Until next time, stay healthy and warm.

Friday Fun Fact

Apparently, I have a radish fetish. I found no less than 5 bunches of radishes collected over several weeks of shopping in my veggie bins.

They are cleaned and ready to eat now.

Let the feasting begin.

I hope I can ignore the compulsion to buy more at least for a week or so.

Until next time.

Lack of Motivation

I have not been writing. True, in the last 3 months, I have faced my mom’s decline and death, weird electrical problems, a hit and run leaving a burning car in the front of my house, household changes, and an water line break in my attic. A buttload of unexpected pressure at work plus slacker employees who veer toward drama.

Writing and expending any energy or emotions to bleed words onto the page was not going to happen when I wanted to hibernate.

In other words I lacked motivation..

Or so I thought until I watched this TED talk:

https://youtu.be/T8CegN1xssY?si=utm5e6CwjvMkG3Ul

It is true that I was more in love with the idea of the story than the actual work of writing. Writing is one of those things that doesn’t come easy to me.

It was why I wrote. To keep my brain elastic and keep it learning and working.

So I am back to writing. Small steps. One page a day until the 15th of this month, then I will bump it up to 2 pages until I get up to 3 pages a day.

Which means I may have a new book out in June.

Fingers-crossed, I keep on keeping on.

Until next time, stay healthy and warm.
