The weekend’s binge

This weekend I watched all 8 episodes of Netflix’s zombiverse.

At first, I wasn’t sure if it was some sort of game show gimmick or if there really was a zombie apocalypse.

The show was pretty silly at times, and the situations with random helpers were videogamesque.

Then the end got dark.

But several storylines were left open, so I am not sure if I should hope for a second season.

Until next time.

Two me

There are two of me. The early morning me who is full of energy and makes plans for afternoon me. Afternoon me is more interested in watching TV in the evening.

Yesterday was no different until it was.

I managed to get afternoon me off the couch and doing a couple things morning me wanted done. I was very happy with myself.

But I don’t plan to make it a habit.

Until next time.

Take a letter

It’s funny how much time can be spent looking back on events gone by. I’m not talking about world history, I’m talking about things that are usually preceded by the words when I was young.

The past can be overly dramatized or romanticized, and given how little people agree on what they just witnessed, lends itself more to fiction than fact.

I was listening to a podcast about how rarely we think of our future self when we go through time—choosing instead to indulge ourselves instead of pacing ourselves for what many of us hope is the marathon ahead.

It’s a tricky idea. We know the person we were but we will never meet the person we will become. That person could be completely annoying.

Maybe instead of writing a letter to our past selves, we should instead reach out to our future selves. What gift shall we give them that we have to take those steps today?

I think my near future self would like to be in nature, in a place where the giant ball of fire in the sky doesn’t try to kill you on sight, to that end, my current self is walking that optimal 30 minutes a day, every day.

Of course, my future self had better reward me with the occasional burger and fries. Time may be a one way street, but I do expect pay back:D

Until next time.

Friday Fun Fact

Nothing says I love you like a pet waiting for a treat.

By the numbers

Sometimes there are too many choices of which project to do so I get a little overwhelmed and do nothing. To get around this, I decided to make a list of the crafts I wanted to do and number them. Then I used a random number generator to pick the next task.

It picked a projected that needed 5 other projects to be completed before I could even start.

So I picked something else on my list and did that.

I’m not sure if that means the system worked or not? But I am considering it a win since I did make some cards.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Maker Monday #not2shabbyshop crafting box

I love the beginning of the month as my crafty subscription box is revealed then gets shipped to me. Each month is different and we are now heading into the holidays.

This month’s box and subscriptions from Not 2 Shabby features two holiday themes baking and the harvest.

Although most items are from the subscriptions, I supplemented with extra paper, ephemera, and doilies.

I love the jam theme and already made five cards based based on Crafty Mamas diaries designs.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Badges

I opened my reading app and got a notice that said I would receive a badge if I read for more than 15 days this month.

What am I twelve?

I don’t need a fricking badge for doing something I enjoy. I need a badge for doing those things that are tedious or I don’t want to do.

Nah, I’m not going to do anything for a badge.

So who are all these folks doing things to earn a badge?

Christmas in July

Today is the last day of July, but it won’t be the last of the Christmas in summer celebration. Since the temperature is well into the triple digits which is frightful and the ball of fire in the sky isn’t so delightful, I will spend most of my time indoor watching holiday movies.

Well, that is until September 1st when Halloween Season begins.

Until next time.
