Not a fire, more like a smolder

We have a fire stick from amazon on our TV. I don’t know how old it is, but I’m guess maybe 5 years.

Which for technology is old.

Which irritates me because I don’t view 5 years old as old.

But I digress.

The fire stick keeps having to reboot. For the most part, it is very polite and shuts down only when I am beginning a new movie or opening a new app (which leads me to harbor doubts as to whether this is a real glitch or one designed to annoy me into purchasing a new stick).

The problem is, the shutting down and restarting happens multiple times and prevents me from watching shows.

So I gave into the electronic pressure and purchased a new stick.

Now, I’m just waiting until the weekend to install the new one. Why?

Passwords. So many freaking passwords on all those apps that I’ve forgotten and now have to be re-entered.

Until next time, stay healthy.

My Judgment is in the Toilet

No, that’s not a metaphor.

We live in a nice neighborhood. However, more homeless have begun to invade the area. A few have even taken up living under the nearby bridge like trolls.

No, this isn’t a post about homeless or drug use. This is about toilets.

The toilets at the nearby stores are starting to be locked up, accessible only by top secret code or handshake.

I understand why. Addicts often use the toilets as a safe place to begin their journey, and based on the number of ambulances going by, overdose while on the throne.

And yet, I want access to those thrones without stumbling over a body or huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf while waiting for someone to let me in.

The more posh areas have eluded the potty lock up. It is kind of nice to shop there. Although with my sunburned truck and Goodwill clothes, i don’t exactly fit in.

Which means soon they’ll limit access because of me. I kinda like that idea.

Until next time, stay healthy.

That didn’t go as planned

You know the saying, you make plans and the universe laughs.

It started with a leak in the truck. The hubby thinks it’s oil, I’m worried it could be transmission fluid. there’s too many drips for the mechanic to decide. So we spend a thousand bucks changing the gaskets on everything and now we wait to see if the problem is fixed, or if my 22 year old truck wants another couple of grand investment.

Fun times, but still just a little cheaper than buying a new vehicle.

Then I plan to write, but I promised to do other things and there is food to shop for which seems to take half a day.

Easter was a grand celebration with family on a zoom meeting (although we missed half of it while our app updated). We ended up joining online but the sound was off by about 5 seconds which made everything kind of surreal. Dinner was a gathering of those who lived close and was quite delicious.

I even made some cards when I got home, only to discover the ink smeared as I was writing them.

Overall, I’m on this side of the dirt blanket, so I’ll take that as a win.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Friday fun fact

WordPress knows when you are tired and will let you think a post is scheduled when it is only saved as a draft.

Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Truth is

I am a morning person. I start the day full of energy and think of all the things I can accomplish when I get home from work.

Over time, I have learned to mute my enthusiasm for the day because lets face it, most of you are not morning people.

Some of you aren’t people at all.

But the bad thing is when I get home from work, I just want to go to bed. Usually at 5PM since I get up at 0330 and I like to sleep.

And naps.

Both of which are frowned upon at work.

Ah well. Life is full of compromises.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Working on the Weekend

There’s nothing like coming home to work after a long week of work. Of course, yard work is very different that my normal job. So in one sense, it is very nice to be outside. And in another sense, it was 97F on that day and not so much fun.

Still there is a big sense of accomplishment from turning this:

Into this:

Assembling the weekend

It’s always fun to move. Not!

This weekend, I moved some of my crafting stuff out of my office and into our living room. I had purchased a few organizing pieces to help keep the area neater and more streamlined.

Alas, the assembly part took up a bunch of time this weekend.

Still, I am happy with the organizer. At least until I fill them up and then I will find I need more:D

Until next time, stay healthy.

8 days

We went away for 8 days. Our new puppy went from sleeping in our bed.

To being tucked into our son’s bed.

The first night back was a test of loyalty. She wanted to stay with the guys and stay up late, but when she turned bitey, she was returned to me. My son is the tucker.

Until next time, stay healthy.
