Didn’t get the memo

Back in the 80’s, there was a show called The Golden Girls. In it, the 80 year old mother of one of the ‘girls’ always carried around her purse.

Apparently, I have now become that character.

You see, this last week I noticed that most of the younger generation no longer carries a purse/bag/pocketbook.

Heck, most don’t even carry cash.

There are nifty secret compartments in their phone cases for an id and credit card, or there are cases to slid in cards/ids.

I must say, I see the appeal of not having to constantly carry around a purse.

Although, I don’t know where I would keep those napkins that I am apparently the designated Sherpa.

Hmm, the only downside would be that I would then need pockets. Not all sweatpants have pockets.

Ah, well, change usually requires some kind of sacrifice

Until next time, stay healthy.

Friday Fun Fact

Holding up a roll of duct tape, a bag of zip ties, and a sign saying you know where is speaker lives is an effective way to end a zoom meeting.

Or end up in HR.

Or both.

Until next time, stay healthy.

She’s graduated

After 6 long weeks, Lucy has finished her puppy training classes and graduated. The teacher believes her graduation picture represents her best.

Laying down instead of sitting up. Hat to the side and tassel on her head. Yep, that is our dog.

She does pretty well for being 6 months old. And we will continue to work with her, even enrolling her in the next class with the teaching her to ignore distractions.

Well, life is a work in progress.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Reading while you watch

In order to watch a new zombie movie, I’ll stream anything that looks like it might meet my death toll/violence quote. But I’ll admit there are just some days when I would rather not read while vegetating, er, I mean watching Netflix or Prime.

Thankfully, there are some foreign language movies that are dubbed in English.

And then there is the hybrids. You know, the ones that are partly in English and other times in another language that have no subtitles or translation.

I watched one such movie yesterday and it got me wondering if what the characters said wasn’t really translatable so they didn’t bother translating.

Hmm. Given that it wasn’t the best movie, I think it maybe that the translator just walked out after a while because the lines were so bad. Which is missing the point of why some of us watch bad movies:D

Ah well, I did get a small catnap. So all was not lost.

Until next time, stay healthy.

National Craft Month

March is national craft month. And I am such a crafty person. While I am focusing almost exclusively on cards for a while, I do enjoy so many other crafts like crossstitch, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, beading, etc.

Here is my latest batch of cards inspired by The Best Things in Life are Pink:

I hope you find something you enjoy doing too.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Switch

I had plans for the weekend. Big plans.

I didn’t complete all of those plans, and, yes, some of it is because I decided meh I don’t wanna.

But there was also an event that ate up some of my available time.

That event was resulted in the need to take a flashlight into the bathroom. And no, I wasn’t camping. Nor was the bulb burnt out.

Which left two possibilities—either the switch or the fixture had gone caput.

We decided to start with the switch. Thankfully we had a spare so no trips to the home improvement store. It did take a while to find the right screwdrivers and wire stripper.

But once we gathered everything we were able to finish in less than an hour and the flashlight has been returned to the buffet drawer.

Until next time, stay healthy.
