Subliminal

I thought I was strong.

Apparently, I am not.

While we were shopping, there were end caps and displays of that summer treat–SMORES. That’s right. Chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers every where I turned. Everywhere.

So many that before I reached the checkouts, I was craving a Hersey chocolate bar with almonds. One of my favorite treats. Sure enough, there by the registers were the candy bars.

I grabbed one. Then I grabbed a Snickers for the hubbinator just to cover for my weakness.

Alas, I was too sneaky for my own good. I grabbed a regular bar, not the one with almonds. I’m proud to say I ate it anyway.

Halfway there

Today is June 30th. We are halfway to New Year’s. More than halfway to Christmas.

And yet the real halfway point is on July 2nd. All I can say is February shorted the first half of the year. Must be why there is so many celebrations in the second half.

I am so looking forward to the cooler weather.

Maybe because, I have high hopes of finishing my current work in progress by the end of September. I would love to finish writing this book. Then again, that would mean I have to write every day.

So far, my work life is interfering.

But I live in hope, and maybe, just maybe I can find the energy to get the words on paper and finish.

The clock starts tomorrow.

See with your paws

This is Zim. He is completely deaf and half blind. He loves to see with his paws and his mouth. Which means everything gets touched and most things get bit.

Zim found that the lid of the coffee maker pops up when he touches it just right and bonus, there’s metal underneath that moves.

So every morning, he decides he wants to play with it before anyone gets coffee.
