Stringing Along

I’ve decided to make my own costume this year for Halloween. Hubbinator thought it would save money. I laughed and laughed, wiped the tears from my eyes and said, sure we can go with that answer.

To be fair, I’m dipping into my fabric stash for most of the dress, but the accessories required a trip to Joann’s.

No, the socks aren’t part of the deal, but they were on sale and, hey, can you ever have too many Halloween socks? No. The answer is no.

Given the tendency for  really long strands of pearls in this Downton Abbey era, I wanted one in white and a shorter one in pink. After realizing I’d given my good beading thread to my mother and not wanting to make another trip to the craft store, I came up with this configuration:

Originally, I planned to add the crystals to the pink strand, but I think in this case less is more. So, I’ll wear them like this. Now I just have to find a project to for the crystals.

I believe, I’ll have to make another trip to the craft store soon. But then, Christmas is coming so I’ll be there anyway.

Until next time.
