I thought I was being clever

The hubbinator and I have been working on our backyard.  You know, turning it into something other than a bare patch of dirt. Before the heat kicked in, we invested in 5 new plants.

2 rose bushes

1 lavender bush

1 dessert shrub

and a fig tree

In an effort to make our lives easier, we even bought irrigation lines that we can tie into our existing hose and drip water on the plants in the early  morning hours, no thought required. (And for the record, early morning means 0330, hence the no thought).

All worked fine on Saturday. And Monday.

Then today, I turned it on went about my morning routine, including walking the dog. I returned and checked on the fig tree (this is the last plant on the line). And discovered it was dry as a bone.

Hmmm, so were the other plants. Come to find out, the hose had disconnected and I’d been watering the neighbor’s yard for about 40 minutes. Grrr.

So, today, I’ll be hopping up and down during my normal routine to do things the old fashioned way.

But never fear, I will get the situation fixed this weekend. You know, cuz, it’s gonna be a cool 110+ F until October:D

Until next time.
