Horchata is summer’s eggnog.
Nearly gave myself a heart attack the other day. Sure there were great big Christmas in July celebrations at all my favorite crafty places, but then some folks started to release fall items.
Now, in my head, Halloween comes before fall. Fall things are Thanksgiving things. Maybe living in Phoenix the vast majority of my life has left me out of the whole fall starts in September thing, but I make no apologies for beginning my Halloween decorating in September, maybe August, rarely July, unless there’s a sale.
Either way, I ended up visiting my favorite small online businesses for paper crafting items. Fall themes filled the new release pages, but I managed to find a few Halloween items in the end.

Many of you may have heard of the saying—life happens when you make other plans.
I had planned a relaxing weekend chilling with Netflix, Tubi and Hulu.
Instead, I was locked out of my Amazon account which meant no fire stick. Also, no music and no kindle. It was quite irritating.
I needed to make an inquiry to find out what had happened, but that required that I log into my account. Yeah, there’s something wrong with that picture. Anyway, I managed to find the customer service number and the lady was kind enough to enter the inquiry for me.
Two days later, I got an email letting me know that amazon was looking into it and would get back to me within 24-48 business hours. Which made me think, does amazon work 8 or 10 hour days?
Anyway, I decided that would require at least a week so I hooked up my blue ray player to get Netflix and Hulu. Then my son borrowed my daughter’s Chromecast and I installed all the apps on my iPad.
I have to say there is something magical about casting, but I there was also a lot of buffering.
On a whim on Saturday, I decided to log onto my amazon account. Lo and behold, it worked.
So for now, all is right with the world.

I was up late last night, not getting into bed until almost 2am.
The hubbinator was most understanding. He fed the cats and let me sleep in.
The puppy, not so much. She woke me twice. Both times whining and rolling around so she could sleep on me.
Finally, I got up and ate breakfast.
Now, we can both sleeping on the couch. Apparently, sleeping is fine, just not in the bedroom after a certain time. Who knew?

Well, we didn’t do much this weekend aside from the usual hours of errands.
But we did binge watch 2 series.
The first was Only Murders in the Building which our youngest recommended. It was pretty funny and clever. We only watched the first season, so we’ll wait for season 2 for next weekend.
The other was Zomboat. Which featured a gamer and her sister deciding to flee a zombie outbreak by boat. The zombies were slow, thankfully the boat was just a little faster:D. I hope there is another season of this show.

Sometimes I add caramel ice cream topping to my tea.
Puppies, like humans, are creatures of habit. They find comfort in the routine, an assurance that all is right with the world.
Today, I have a very scared puppy who wants to know why she hasn’t gotten her treats. Why there is no walk this morning.
Why I am being so mean.
She is currently prostrate outside our bedroom door, whining so that the hubbinator will save her.
Alas, it is not to be. She is scheduled to be at the vet’s at 7:30am for her spaying appointment.
If she’s upset now, I don’t know how she’ll react later, after her surgery.
But then, I will have the hubbinator pick her up.

Sunday was my birthday. The hubbinator was quite proud of the gift he picked out for me.
Tea cups:
They are feminine and delicate. I am afraid every time I pour hot water into them that hey will break.
But so far, they’ve weathered the storm. A bit like me.
