And so it has begun. I am writing the last Syn-En book. And Bei, Nell and the gang are going to the one place they swore never to go: back to Earth.
Ending a series is always hard. These people have lived in my head so often that I forget they don’t exist in the real world. Of course, I think they enjoy it when I leave them alone because I do tend to torture them when I write.
But I knew they had to return to Earth before I let them ride off into the stars.
For one thing: Earth is a pillar world. Sure, there wasn’t a pillar here but that doesn’t mean one couldn’t be rebuilt. And really, don’t you want to know what these pillars do?
Secondly, Earth tried to kill off the Syn-En. There has to be repercussions for that horrible decision. Don’t we want justice for our cyborg friends?
Third, Mopus kinda survived the end of the last book. (Oops, did you think he was killed?) Evil doesn’t always die, it just mutates into something worse.
And lastly, there’s the Meek being born into a Human population as Syn-En. Will there be consequences or am I just planting the seeds of a spin off series of Bei and Nell’s and the other’s off-spring? NOTE: I honestly don’t know at this point, so that’s just a kernel of an idea that has to wait until after I write the Atlantis book. 2018 or 2019.
In the meantime, I know all of Bei and Nell’s secret fears and now it’s time for them to face them and a few others they don’t expect. Bwahahaha.
Until next time!
Oh my goodness! I can’t believe its the end. It’s an great series with Amazing characters. Just thinking about the last book makes me want to cry. All in all. Can’t wait to see what you have planned 🙂
