3 Bags Full

We had a cool snap in the summer heat over the weekend. Which was fortunate as our AC is broken. Needing a distraction, I offered the side yard. We had yet to clear most of the weeds.

And so we weed-whacked by hand as the weedwhacker decided not to participate in the project. With only three bags full of weeds, we cleaned up the area. Mostly. Well, good enough.

Changing thing up

Besides starting new books to read, I also like to change up the candle mix.

I write early in the morning and prefer it to be dark, but a candle provides enough light so I don’t find all my furniture with my baby toe.

And while some in my house will burn a single candle until it is gone, I prefer to burn a different one every day.

Okay, I also find the mix of melted wax on top of solid wax fascinating.

This month’s candle scents are:

June’s Reading List

A new month means new books. I’m back to my usual cozy mysteries with Death of a Kitchen Diva.

And for some summer fun, The Official Quotable Doctor Who. I can’t wait to read my favorite quote from my Doctor (Tom Baker).

Where are you going this summer?

Just need to add the finishing touches

The tile work is done. And the faucets and toilet are installed.

All that remains is some drywall patching, painting and hanging the mirrors and towel bars.

All the while we will be saving up for a shower door.

But at least we can use our bathroom again.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Happy Memorial Day

For those of us in the US, today we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are currently in the middle of the pandemic, and there have been more uniforms added to those who are dying to keep our lives growing.

While every day is a good day for gratitude.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Here we go again

We spent our weekend ripping out the bathroom.

Yes, I know. I’ve posted remodeling bathroom pictures before. Thankfully this is the last bathroom. Well, the last one in the house, and it is ours.

The shower is gone. So is the toilet and double sink and most of the walls. The opening where the medicine cabinet once was will soon be closed in and tiled to hold shampoo bottles and soap.

Until next time, stay healthy.
