Things I didn’t think I’d say

Our puppy is now over 1 year old. I wouldn’t call her a dog yet as she still is very puppish. Now, she isn’t the first pup we’ve had but I find it odd that I’m am saying things I’ve never said before.

Things like:

No, do not bite the car tires.

Stop the cars.

The cat does not want to play with you.

Stop licking the toilet paper, I just changed the roll.

That’s not another dog, that’s your reflection.

Of course, this may lead you to believe she is a little slow on the uptake, but lately she’s been standing by the door when we go to bed and as soon as we get up to open the door for her to go out, she jumps up on the bed and picks her spot to sleep.

I guess a new pup can teach an old human new tricks, and it’s us who are a little slow.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Inertia

You know what it means. It means that when you are already up and doing things, then you can do more things.

But sit down and watch a show, and ‘boom’ you’re sitting down for the rest of the night.

Unless an external force acts upon you. Sadly not even letting the dog in and out can keep me in motion for long enough to stay in motion.

Being able to shop online means I don’t even have to go out for that any more. It is a hermit’s delight.

But doesn’t get house work done.

Hmmm, maybe I’ll see if I care after this show is finished:D

Until next time, stay healthy.

Life hack

I received a health tip in my app that recommended I have a bottle of cold water next to my bed so that I can have something cold to drink without getting up.

They obviously don’t live with unruly animals.

I tried it. Once.

One of our cats spent the night biting the plastic until he punctured it then he knocked it on the floor so the dog could bite through it the rest of the way and I could wake up to a puddle of water in the middle of the night.

To be fair, the same cat knocked over the glass of water I tried next.

I think I will get up and get a drink if I need one.

Until next time, stay hydrated.

Sugar Season

Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is fast approaching.

Which means our sugar food group will now switch from candy to fresh cookies.

Hmmm, cookies.

I have to say I love thin sugar cookies, no icing, like my mom makes.

Second, a very close second, are gingerbread cookies.

What is your favorite cookie?

Fair Enough

We almost missed it. The fair came upon us and we were busy elsewhere. Thankfully, we were able to go the last week and fill up on fried food for a year. After eating a Navajo taco, we started off at the exhibitor hall where the old met the new.

Love all the knitted stuff on a sewing machine:D

No trip to the fair would be complete without a stop at the livestock barns.

Fresh potato chips with cheese and bacon

A deep fried scone with raspberry jam and whipped cream:

Overall a very tasty visit.

Until next time, stay healthy.

It’s done

With a day to go, we finally finished the pool house.

It turned out fabulous and everyone loved it during the wedding.

Until next time, stay healthy.

Never backward, only forward

The other day, I was asked if I could go back in time and change one thing, what would I pick. My answer is simple—I wouldn’t go back.

I am only moving forward.

This isn’t to say that I don’t have regrets or that I haven’t made some bad decisions. Been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it.

It is to say that I am here today and who I am today because of what happened in the past. Thankfully, my past wasn’t too traumatic.

I have some great memories that I hope to be lucky enough to carry with me forever, but I don’t dwell in them.

There are great memories to come.

Until next time, stay healthy.
