You know if you’re going to get good or bad news by how many syllables the bearer pronounces in the word ‘so’.
Last night, I was very happy to use up one of my least favorite flavors of hibiscus teas. It was nice to see it go because I had others to take its place and now I had room for one more mug on my tea shelf.
Yes, my tea collection takes up a whole shelf in my kitchen. Actually one and a half shelves but some of that is my daughters, so it doesn’t count.
It took a moment for me to realize how blessed I was to have other tea reserves waiting and that I wasn’t like some characters in my books who live with the grind of poverty.
Of course, then I also realized I was out of milk and I didn’t have any more. So there was that.
Still, I always feel better when I take the time to be grateful for my blessings.

I admit I am struggling. It seemed about 7 years ago when I wrote my current WIP, I had a completely different process. Or I just winged it and wrote whatever I want.
So, now as I go back and try to layer in the stuff that should have been there, I have no idea what that stuff that should have been there is.
Most vexing.
It is a good story, and I am not keen on trashing it or setting it aside for another 7 years.
I think I am going to try to retrograde my current process to see if I can fix the missing bits in the story and make it a little more cohesive.
Wish me luck.

You know it is going to be an interesting day when you think turning a square will help it fit better into a small space.
It is spring like weather here in Phoenix, so the hubbinator and I decided to start a container garden. We started with the pots out front and added flowers.
We wanted something small and that had wheels so that we could roll it from the backyard to the front yard when the heat really kicked in.
And then we had to cage it in using lawn furniture so the dog didn’t eat the new plants.

I have a dog who has recently begun to display the signs of displaced loyalty.
It started small enough. I tend to go to bed at the same time while the hubbinator stays up late on the weekends. At first, the puppy went to bed with me and snuggled against my legs.
Then she turned one and decided that she was old enough to stay up late with the hubbinator. Hmm, okay, I get it. There’s a chance of snacks and petties.
Then she stayed up late with the boy and the hubbinator while they watched car videos on Youtube.
But the biggest came on Friday. I got up early to see the hubbinator off to work, but when I returned to bed, the traitor dog was snuggled with the boy and even treats didn’t get her to leave. She poked her head out of the curtains to see me leave through the window, but I think that was only to make sure I had left. Unfaithful dog.
Good thing she is cute and is happy to keep my feet warm.

It started around Halloween. You know, when you buy a bag of candy, then eat the candy before Halloween, so you need to buy another bag of candy. Well, I bought multiple bags of candy.
And we had no trick or treaters, so I stashed the candy in the freezer.
Then the holidays started in earnest.
I managed to make some cookies before my surgery then I froze those cookies because there was pie.
Then after my surgery and in that great sugartopia around Christmas, I bought lots of cookies I only see during the holidays.
Then I froze those cookies, too.
I have a lot of cookies in my freezer and some tinned cookies out. In other words, I will be stocked with cookies until probably New Year’s despite me slipping them into the hubbinator’s lunch box.
It is a sweet problem to have.

I did it. I finally bought a Brother ScanNCut. I had been debating for a while as it was very expensive, but added up the costs of purchasing dies for my stamps and it ended up being a no-brainer.
I practiced using their training project and it came out very well.
Next, I went live on some images on paper. Not as successful, but I will get it. First, I will learn on paper for cards and scrapbooking, then I will move on to fabric cutting for quilts.
